Refreshing Summer Cocktails: three classic recipes with a twist.
Warm sunny weather, backyard get-togethers and pool parties are among the perks of the summer season, together with a refreshing drink!
What makes the ideal summer drink? It’s sweet, fresh, and fruity! Our Ricco Wines match all these characteristics on their own and are the perfect choice to bring the fun to your party and beat the summer heat. But if you like to mix yourself up a cool cocktail filled with ice, here are 3 summertime classics with a fruity twist.
FROZEN PEACH BELLINI
This version of the iconic cocktail from Venice is perfect for summer. Add a splash of vodka or leave it out for a low-alcohol version, it’s going to taste delicious anyway!
2 parts Ricco Peach Moscato
1 part lime juice
1 part vodka (or soda for a low-alcohol version)
1 cup frozen sliced peaches
1 fresh peach
Fresh mint leaves
Combine the frozen peach slices and lime juice in a blender until smooth. Pour the peach mixture into a champagne flute until half full. Top with Ricco Peach Moscato and vodka (or soda for a low-alcohol version). Garnish with fresh peach slices and mint leaves.
MANGO SPRITZER
One of the most iconic Italian cocktails is the spritz. You can go with the classic Aperol Spritz or play around this tropical version!
2 parts Ricco Mango Moscato
1 part soda
1 part lime juice
1 part vodka (leave out for a low-alcohol version)
Lime strings to garnish
Ice
Fill a tall wine glass with ice, add 2 parts of Ricco Mango Moscato, 1 part of soda to fizz, and 1 part of lemon juice.
Add 1 part of vodka or leave out for a low-alcohol version. Stir gently. Twist lime rind over glass and add.
SANGRIA
This ultimate summer cocktail has never tasted sweeter and fresher. Add not any kind of wine but Ricco Dolce Sweet Red, not overly sweet and with fresh hints of berries!
1 apple
1 orange
3/4 tbsp brown sugar
2 parts orange juice
Ricco Dolce Sweet Red
Ice
Wash and chop the fruit. Add the sugar and muddle in a large pitcher. Add orange juice and Ricco Dolce wine. Stir to combine. Add ice and stir once more to chill. Garnish with orange slices.
Enjoy!
