A Moscato Fiesta? Por Favor!

A Moscato Fiesta

There’s no better time than the first week of May for a margarita! If you are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with chips, salsa, and these sweet, yet salty drinks, we have a few tips for you. First, ditch the tequila, and use Candoni Moscato wine instead! The result is amazing – You can thank us later! Next, make sure you have the right party foods. And finally, make sure you are in good company. (I prefer my sister who doubles as my best friend!)

Why We LOVE a Margarita with Moscato

Why We LOVE a Margarita with Candoni Moscato

As Italians, we may be a little biased, but we HAVE traveled all over the world and tried other alcoholic beverages besides just wine and sweet wine cocktails. We both agree there is nothing like a margarita with moscato! The sweet and semi-sparkling wine does magic in the blender! And the best part? It pairs exceptionally well with limes and spicy dishes – perfect for Cinco de Mayo, Margarita Monday, or Taco Tuesday.

Frozen Moscato Margarita or Candoni Moscato Margarita on the Rocks?

This drink is one of our favorites for relaxing after a long week of work in the family business. It just makes you feel like you are relaxing on the beach, enjoying simpler times. We personally prefer frozen moscato margaritas, but you could make it on the rocks if you like. By mixing the moscato with lime juice and ice, you get a cold slushie-like beverage, perfect on a hot day! For a less frozen result, use less ice or blend really well.

What Pairs Well with Candoni Moscato Margarita Slushies?

If you are hosting a ‘fiesta’ with your family or close friends, be prepared to have food available with your frozen margarita slushies. Everyone knows the best conversations usually start over chips and salsa, but other dips like guacamole and queso are popular, too. You can find these at the local market or make them homemade yourself. Order authentic tacos from your favorite takeout spot to keep the cooking relatively easy.

Our Family’s Candoni Moscato Margarita Recipe

Our family’s recipe for moscato margaritas is pretty simple. Follow the steps below to get your fiesta started!

  • 6 ounces of chilled Candoni Moscato
  • 10-12 freshly squeezed limes
  • Crushed ice
  • Additional limes for garnish
  • Optional: coarse salt

  • Add chilled Candoni Moscato and lime juice to a blender.
  • Add handfuls of crushed ice until the pitcher is almost full.
  • Carefully and securely place the lid on the blender.
  • Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  • Add salt along the glass rims if you desire.
  • Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with lime wedges.
  • Enjoy by itself or with fun, festive straws!
