Candoni Helps Fight Breast Cancer this October

Helping Women Now with the Candoni De Zan Family

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s a cause that is very near and dear to all of us at Candoni De Zan. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, but also one of the most preventable. As a company made up of many strong women – both young and old – we think it’s an especially important issue to bring attention to. Sadly, a very dear friend of our family is currently fighting the terrible disease, so this October feels more poignant than ever to all of us in the Candoni De Zan family.

When we created our Elviana Collection of wines, we did so with the quintessential modern woman in mind. In fact, we named the collection after our mother, Elviana! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month we will be making a generous donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every case of Elviana wine, both the Rosé and the Red Blend, sold. We think the services provided by the NBCF are very important and progressive. In addition to breast cancer screening and education, they also provide resources to survivors that help support them 360 degrees.

Of course, it’s hard not to know by now that the color of Breast Cancer Awareness is pink! That’s one of the reasons we chose to include an Elviana Rosé in the collection; the other reason is simply that we think it’s delicious! Like the feminine mystique itself, Elviana Rosé is a little spicy, a little sensual, and a little effervescent, but always with a sense of passion. This October my sister, mother, and I invite you to raise a glass for awareness.

Breast cancer is a devastating disease, preying on one of the most essential feminine characteristics. The female breast is a symbol of so much joy, from breastfeeding a baby to sensuality itself, which is why breast cancer is such a cruel disease. Over 1.7 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year (who doesn’t know someone who has been affected by the disease?) and Italy, in particular, has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the developed world.

Femininity is a powerful symbol in our family. Our mother, Elviana, has always been a strong role model for my sister Caterina and I to look up to. We are grateful that our mother encouraged us to pursue education, our independence, and also to find our passion in life. For all of us in the Candoni De Zan family, that passion just so happens to be wine! It’s our hope that this October we can play a small part in the fight to eradicate breast cancer altogether.

 Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Salute,
– Barbara
