As the global coronavirus pandemic affects our families, businesses, communities, and way of life, we wanted to reach out and let you know we are here for you.
First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we’re truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.
Here is an update on how we’re approaching the situation at Candoni De Zan Family wineries in Italy: In addition to all our current safety standards, our estate and bottling facilities have introduced new procedures such as face masks, gloves, extra sanitization of our plant and other safety precautions.
What’s more, the production process is completely handled with no physical contact between our operators and the wine base (going from stainless steel thru tubes into our filling machine).
Last but not least, we’ve recently received from the Italian national wine makers association “Assoenologi” news confirming that the survival of the virus in wine – seems impossible because the concomitant combination of the presence of alcohol, a hypotonic environment and the presence of polyphenols, prevents the life and multiplication of the virus itself.
